Nicole Young, PsyD
My passion for helping families answer difficult questions, through a psychological assessment, began over 15 years ago during my doctoral studies at the California School of Professional Psychology in San Francisco, Ca. Over the years, my training has included conducting psychological assessments for children, teens, and young adults in in-patient s settings, group homes, and outpatient clinics using a variety of assessment tools.
A psychological assessment, or psychological testing, can be an important step in further understanding your child’s skills and abilities. I specialize in psychological assessment of neurodevelopment disorders, including Autism Spectrum Disorder and Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorders, as well as assessing for mood disorders, such as depression and anxiety. Throughout the assessment process, I will ensure that you and your child are comfortable and informed.
The process begins with an intake. At the intake, I will collect background information about your child, including your current concerns. After the intake, I will complete a comprehensive assessment in order to answer the referral questions. Once the assessment is complete, I provide each family with a comprehensive psychological report including recommendations, which I will review with the family in detail.
